Since 2015, our publication has dedicated an edition each year to celebrating the Everyday Heroes of Freestone County, Texas:
–Law Enforcement
–Volunteer Fire Departments
–Emergency Medical Responders
Our county supports three municipal Police Departments: Fairfield, Teague and Wortham; Freestone County Sheriff’s Department; District Attorney Investigator; Environmental Health & Safety; four elected Constables; Game Wardens and K-9; Fairfield Lake State Park Crew/Police; Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association Special Ranger; TABC Inspector; Texas DPS Troopers; and Texas Ranger.
We have nine Volunteer Fire Departments: Butler, Dew, Donie, Fairfield, Kirvin, Southern Oaks, Streetman, Teague, Wortham.
Responding to Freestone County medical emergencies include Fairfield EMS, Teague EMS, and AirEvac.
These men and women have committed themselves to safeguarding our communities, neighborhoods, and families.
Our law enforcement ensures public safety and enforces the laws of the land.
Our firefighters are volunteers who are willing and faithful to provide courageous service without monetary compensation.
Our Emergency Responders stand ready to provide lifesaving care and medical transport to those in need 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Each entity spends hours in training and learning to serve our citizens.
And, each individual stands ready to put their lives on the line for the Citizens of Freestone County.
We salute theses men and women, and thank them for their service.
The family and readers of Freestone County Times.
