An oak tree was dedicated on January 24, 1964 to the first grade of 1963-1964 (FHS Class of 1975) by the Fairfield Garden Club.
This was done in observance of Arbor Day.
Mrs. Aubrey Bass, president of the Garden Club, quoted an old proverb in saying, “He who plants trees, loves others besides himself.”
