Hilda Marie Wilson passed away May 29, 2019 in Mexia at the age of 76.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Bro. Michael Hensley officiating. Interment was in the Mexia Cemetery.
Lance Silar, Leonard Stewart, Robert Day, Michael Watson, Steven Posey and Brandon Lehrmann served as pallbearers.
Hilda was born May 2, 1943 in Mart, Texas to J. T. and Starlene Yarbrough Martin. She worked for the Haven Nursing Home as a Med Aide and Activity Director in addition to working with her husband in car sales.
Although Hilda worked outside the home, her first, and most important, job was being a wife and mother. She loved nothing more than having her home filled with family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren, as they were the “apple of her eye.” She also enjoyed traveling to Colorado, working puzzles, feeding hummingbirds, watching bull riding and listening to country music.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J. T. and Starlene Martin; and husband, Dewey “Sonny” Wilson; daughter, Lisa Wilson; grandson, Jacob Padgett; and sister, Mary Blackmon.
Hilda is survived by her loving children, Tony Wilson and wife, Carolyn, Terry Padgett and husband, Turk, Randy Wilson and wife, Carla all of Mexia and Kenny Kitchens and wife, Kim of Groesbeck; grandchildren, Christina Stewart and husband, Leonard, Kody Daniel, Kandis Posey and husband, Steven, Christi Silar and husband, Lance, Bradley Wilson and wife, April, Amber Lehrmann and husband, Brandon and Matthew Owen; a number of great grandchildren (who she loved very much); sister, Janet Pounder and husband, Phillip; and a number of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
