Highway 84 had a lane shut down near Cedar Creek RV lodge on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at about 11:00 a.m. after one of Fairfield’s backhoe’s tipped over.
No one was injured, including the employee who was inside the backhoe at the time.
The backhoe spilled diesel and oil, and spread glass across the roadway, but it was quickly cleaned up to allow for traffic to start flowing again.
Once they were able to upright the backhoe, it was able to be driven away.
It took around ninety minutes for crews to be able to open both lanes of traffic once again.
The City of Fairfield posted on social media “Thanks to the Freestone County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Public Safety, Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens, Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department, and a special thanks to Texas Towing for their assistance today.”
