High Speed Chase Through Teague Yards Ends In Arrest

A routine traffic stop ended up in a pursuit through the streets of Teague on Saturday, August 25, 2018.

As Freestone County Sheriff Office Lieutenant Robert Willis and Deputy Michael Darby attempted to stop a vehicle, the driver, Gary McQuirter (40, B/M, of Teague), failed to stop and led deputies on a chase that included going through a yard between two houses.

Eventually, the pursuit ended; and McQuirter was arrested for Evading Arrest ($15,000 bond) and Possession of Dangerous Drugs ($3,000 bond). He remains in jail as of Monday, August 27th.
