Late night on Saturday, August, 1, 2020 a high speed chase began due to a theft at a Dew, Texas gas station.
The pursuit took the Freestone County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) down I-45, Hwy 75, Hwy 84 through Dew, Buffalo and Fairfield in speeds of around 110 mph, nearly hitting officers with her vehicle more than once, the release explains.
Eventually the driver, Christina Clay, was finally stopped as she made contact with one of the FCSO patrol vehicles.
As per the report, after searching the Toyota Camry, marijuana, an assortment of pills and even mail in another person’s name was found.
The main thing found though, was her warrant out of the Colorado Marshal’s Office for narcotics.
She is currently being held at Freestone County Jail with charges for:
–Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle
–Aggravated Assault Against Public Servant
–Aggravated Assault Against Public Servant
–Possession Dangerous Drug
–Possession Marijuana < 2oz
–Possession Dangerous Drug(Hoa)(Out of Denver)
The Fairfield Police Department, Wortham Police Department and Leon County Sheriff’s Ofice provided assistance according to the release.
Freestone County Sheriff Jeremy Shipley stated, “We are also very thankful that no one was injured or hurt in this pursuit.”
