A high speed chase with a motorcycle ended in a wreck on Thursday, March 29, 2018.
The incident began around 4:10 p.m. that afternoon when FCSO Lt. Robert Willis attempted to make a traffic stop on the motorcycle, operated by Jordan Briggs, 19, for speeding. Briggs decided to flee in lieu of stopping.
At about 4:20 p.m., Briggs lost control of his vehicle and wrecked on the Highway 27 Bridge that crosses Interstate 45 at the 198 exit in Fairfield.
Briggs was transported to Freestone County Jail with a State Jail Third Degree Felony charge for Evading Arrest. His bond was set at $10,000.
According to FCSO, no injuries were reported in this incident; and, according to FCSO, Briggs stated that he was impressed that the new 2018 Tahoes were able to keep up with the 163 mile per hour chase.
