Herbert Jones, Jr. the fifth child of Herbert (Jack) Jones, Sr. and Effie Blakely Jones was born March 1, 1934 in the Furney Richardson Community in Freestone County, Texas. 
Herbert took his rest on September 27, 2019 in the Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas, Texas among loving family members.
He graduated from Furney Richardson High School. He was an excellent athlete and played both basketball and baseball. His strong background in baseball lead to him becoming a coach for the Little League Team of Teague, Texas.
Herbert Jr. accepted Christ at an early age. He continued his love for Christ as he taught Sunday School and as a Deacon of Asia Primitive Baptist Church.  Later in his spiritual walk, he was called to preach.  He instilled in his children how important it is to have a relationship with God.
Herbert is survived by; His children; sons, Herbert S. Jones III (Denise), James L. Jones (Yolonda), Earl G. Jones (Tonya), Darrell Jones, Ronald K. Jones (Sandi), Donald K. Jones, and Jerrold L. Jones, Sr. (Kim); daughters: Eva J. Wadley, Patricia D. L. Maxwell, and LaShanda Jones, a Sister, Ethelene High, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Moore’s Angelic Funeral Chapel in Teague, Texas with the Wake Service from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Teague, Texas.
