Ms. June turns one hundred years young on June 2nd.
Everyone in the community is encouraged to send a birthday card to June Matthews at P.O. Box 1603, Fairfield, TX 75840. She will be receiving them on June 1st.
A party is being planned for June on June 1st from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Freestone Historical Museum located at 302 Main Street in Fairfield.
June was born in England June 2nd 1919. June has lived in the U.S. since the mid 60’s and has no blood family here. June currently lives in a nursing home in Fairfield, TX.
June is in great shape, especially for her age, she walks with limit use of a cane. Her mind is sharp and she is quick witted and always in good spirits. She adores animals with dogs being her favorite. She was a professional dog handled for show dogs winning many awards. She spends a lot of time now crocheting and knitting without patterns creating beautiful hats, scarves and animal toys.
June is very proud of her service in the Royal Air Force as an Officer transporter during WWII. June adores England and all things English she is also in love with America and all she has to offer.
Museum admission for the June 1st party has been pre-paid, so please feel free to come and have a Tea Party with everyone. June will arrive at 12:00 p.m., so be in place before then to greet her.
Refreshments will be served, laughter had and Memories made.
