Helen Ann Terry, 69, passed away on April 24, 2025.
Helen was born to Mendila and J.C. Hamby and grew up with her siblings, Mary Jones, Judy Hamby, and Jerry Hamby.
She was a devoted mother to her three sons, Austin Vaughn III, Johnathan Vaughn, and John Curtis Vaughn, all with her first husband, Johnnie Vaughn.
She later married Rodger Terry, finding love and companionship again in her life.
Helen’s pride and joy were her grandchildren: Leslie Vaughn, Faith Vaughn, Austin Vaughn IV, Johnathan Vaughn, Helen Houston, Bobby Vaughn, Colter Wyatt, Travis Wyatt, Noah Vaughn, Katie Vaughn and Daylen Vaughn.
She also cherished her great-granddaughter, Nancy Houston, who brought her endless smiles.
Helen loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was a woman of deep faith who found joy and purpose in going to church and being part of her nursery family, where she worked and formed lasting bonds. Her co-workers and the children she cared for were as dear to her as her own family.
She had a profound love for animals and shared a unique bond with her beloved dog, Dakota, who brought her boundless joy and constant companionship.
Known for her kindness, her unwavering spirit, and her love of Dr Pepper, Helen’s warmth touched everyone who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her in return.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family.
