We would be out of order if we didn’t mention that the library has been having a logo contest that ends on December 4 (hurry hurry to submit your design) for a Fairfield Library logo. Previously announced on the library Facebook page, a $50 amazon card will be given to the creator of the design judged most appropriate by the library. That logo will be used on library information (letterheads, business cards, etc.)
Just like everywhere else in town, the library staff is planning lots of activities to celebrate the Christmas season. Beginning on December 3rd, the staff and any volunteers interested in joining in will be decorating camp site 52 at the Fairfield Lake State Park in conjunction with their Christmas In The Park. Visitors to the park are invited to enjoy all the Christmas lights on Saturday, December 8th at 6 – 9 p.m. For additional information about this event, go to the Fairfield Lake State Park – Texas Parks and Wildlife Facebook page.
The Christmas at the Library Pajama Party and Special Story Time is Friday, December 14th at 6 p.m. Come in your pj’s and join Mrs. Mary for cocoa, cookies, games, and Santa Claus. Mrs. Mary will read “The Night Before Christmas” to all kids of all ages.
Tech Time, taught by Library Director, Gary Wiggins, is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec 11 at 5:30 in the Computer Lab. Gary is starting a series on how to use MS Excel Spread Sheets, and the first class is (wait for it) Intro to Excel. Call the library to sign up for the class, since seats are limited to the number computers for students.
Don’t forget that Library Bingo continues through the month of December, ending on Jan 2 with the final drawing to be held at the library on Jan 3, 2019. Buy as many cards as you want for $1 each, and read as many books as you can to increase your chance of winning!
One last note – the library will be closed for Christmas on December 25 and 26, and for New Year’s on January 1, 2019.
As always…We are working to make your library the “go to” place for you and your family. We welcome all suggestions. Remember to check out the Fairfield Library page every week for fun-filled photos of the weekly Story Time, see what events are coming up (Facebook.com/FairfieldTXLibrary).
