H-E-B Promotes Literacy, Celebrates First Ever Texas Reading Day with Live Read Along

H-E-B’s Read 3 Big Texas Read-in is coming up on Friday, September 30^th and the Mayor of Austin will be on-hand to declare September 30 Texas Reading Day. Camila and the H-E-B team will be on hand after the read along to answer questions about the initiative as well.

The Read 3 Big Texas Read-in aims to continue to foster a love of reading, promote literacy, and to mark the largest reading event in Texas. The event, hosted both virtually and in-person at select locations and will feature an in-person reading experience with New York Times Best Selling Author, Camila Alves McConaughey. Texans can register for the Read3 Read In here and the event will also be live streamed on YouTube. There are many ways to get involved. Some of the events taking place as part of the Read3 Read In event on September 30^th include:

• In-Person Reading Experience with Camila McConaughey: Thousands of Texans will join a live author reading from 9am – 11am at the Long Center in Austin, TX of Camila’s new book “Just Try One Bite.”
• Virtual Reading Event Across Texas: The read-along will be livestreamed virtually on YouTube, Facebook and heb.com for participants across the country to read along with Camila.
• School Reading Events: Select public and private schools across Texas will join together to read on September 30^th. 
• Laura Bush Foundation Grant Recipient Librarians: Texas school librarians will also host reading sessions at select school libraries across the state.
