An alert went out last week to parents and guardians of Teague ISD students about an incident involving the potential presence of a firearm on one of their buses a couple weeks ago.
According to the letter from TISD Superintendent Chris Skinner, an investigation is currently being conducted.
Superintendent Skinner assured that student safety is their utmost priority, stating that the students involved in the incident are no longer attending Teague ISD and have also been prohibited from setting foot on any Teague ISD property.
“This measure has been taken to ensure the security and welfare of our school community,” said Skinner.
“Ensuring a safe learning environment is of the utmost importance to us,” said Superintendent Skinner, “and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation throughout this process.”
