EMERGENCY RESPONDERS RETURNED TO THE SCENE as a 90-plus acre area near Dew, Texas rekindles on Thursday, August 9, 2018.
Six fire departments from Freestone and Leon County, as well at the Texas Forestry Service, fought to contain the fire.
Located along Interstate 45, the multiple grass and brush fire originated on Tuesday, August 7th, with the initial response involving more than 50 firefighters.
Two bulldozers from the Texas A&M Forest Service and one privately owned bulldozer were instrumental in containing that original fire.
Also responding on Tuesday were Texas DPS, Freestone County Sheriff’s Office, Buffalo EMS, Fairfield EMS and numerous citizens offering assistance. Dew VFD had command of the scene.
