Teague High School

–Before Graduation

Each graduate will have nine tickets available for family members; they will be assigned seating and given their tickets before graduation.

Graduation rehearsal was held via Zoom meetings with parents and students. Cords, sashes, collars, and anything else will be given to students before Friday night.

Four people are allowed to sit on the track in assigned track seating.

To help families view graduates easier, they will be seated by the track seating, not alphabetically.
The additional five tickets are for stadium seating.

Assigned locations were decided via a live lottery on the Teague High School Facebook page.

Teague High School staff will be on hand to help guest to their seats before the ceremony.

–Arrival Plan Graduation Night

Graduates are to arrive READY at 7:30 p.m. and are expected to adhere to the social distancing guidelines.

Families will have assigned entrances that are close to their seating; times will be given to help arrivals be staggered.

Signs will be displayed for each section and seats will be marked with the graduate’s name.

Health screening forms regarding COVID-19 must be turned in prior to the ceremony.

Tickets are necessary to gain entry and are numbered with seat assignment.

Parents seating will be on the tract with two chairs together, also designated on their ticket.

Handicap accessible seating is available in a separate area of the field.

Hand sanitizing stations will be available at every entrance.

–Ceremony and Departure

The student procession will depart from the Field House, and will include social distancing.

The ceremony will be live streamed, recorded, and available for parents afterward.

Each graduate is also allowed one car full of guest in the parking lot that will be able to watch the large, angled digital board that will be broadcasting the ceremony.

Teague ISD staff will be on hand to assist with parking.

All speeches will be live, with the microphone sanitized between each speaker.

A senior will sing the National Anthem. The school song, fight song, and Pomp and Circumstance will be prerecorded.

Diplomas will be handed out hands free, but the student will be able to pose for a picture at the table, and then meet with one family member for a photo in a designated spot in the end zone.

Parent must return to seating after photos.

Awards and scholarships will be listed in the program, while Teague ISD specific awards will be awarded at the ceremony.

At the end, students will stand to throw their caps, retrieve their caps and then return to their seats.

Superintendent Chris Skinner will dismiss the guest by section, keeping social distancing in mind.

Graduates are asked to remain, put their mask on and take pictures with their classmates.

Libby Goolsby will take group pictures of graduates. Digital copies will be available to students at no charge.

Lion Academy

The Lion’s Academy Graduation Ceremony will go on with a plan similar to Teague High School, with the exception of there being less students.

Tickets were also drawn with a lottery system online on Facebook Live. Students will receive twenty-one tickets in all.

Six family members may be seated on the track, in pods of three, while there may be fifteen people seated in the bleachers, in pods of five.

A lap child that stays in the lap does not count towards the total of twenty-one people.

The COVID-19 checklist form will hold the arrival time for each family to arrive at their uniquely planned time.

Earlier on Graduation Day, the students may go by the cafeteria to pick up not one, but two, BBQ plates to go between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

The meat was donated by Carlos and Jan Perales and sides by the district.
