Deadlines from Government Agencies are being postponed in order to help the public with following the social distancing required to combat COVID-19.
–IRS has delayed the filing deadline to July 15, 2020 instead of the standard April 15, 2020. Any payments due on April 15 are also delayed to July 15, 2020. https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus
–Texas DMV also has a temporary extension for obtaining initial registration, renewal of registration, vehicle titling, and renewal of a permanent disabled parking placard. https://www.txdmv.gov/covid-19
Freestone County has a drop box available in front of the tax office for registration payments (checks, money order, or cashier’s check, NO cash.) Receipts and stickers will be mailed to you.
–Expirations on Texas Driver’s License are also extended. The expiration date on the Driver’s License must be on or after March 13, 2020, and the current date is within sixty days of the current State of Disaster. https://www.dps.texas.gov/DriverLicense/covid-19.htm
–Texas Driver’s License Offices are closed for all, except for CDL testing,
