Congratulations are in order for Texas Game Warden’s newest certified Game Warden K9 Team, K9 Jake and John Thorne!
K9 Jake and John are now mission ready for PSAR, which includes, article searches, off lead open area searches, tracking (both criminal and SAR), and building searches.
Game Warden John Thorne has been serving the State of Texas as a K9 Handler since 2013 and K9 Jake is his 2nd K9 Partner. Game Warden Thorne will continue to work his 1st K9 Partner, K9 Justin, until K9 Jake is certified in detection work.
“Thorne is one of our great Game Wardens we have in our county and we appreciate the job they do and the assistance we receive from them on a regular basis. We’re looking forward to continued success working as a team and excited about the new skills and training K9 Jake brings to the table.”, said Freestone County Sheriff Jeremy Shipley.
The team is available for Game Wardens, federal, state, county, and local law enforcement agencies.
