She was born in Chester, Pennsylvania, on November 26, 1955. Gail moved with her family as a child to Melvindale, Michigan, where she grew up and graduated from Melvindale High School with the class of 1973. She met her future husband, Jeff Clark, while on a trip to New Orleans. They married on April 26, 1980, and shared over forty-years of marriage together. Gail was a dedicated mom and homemaker for her husband and young children but returned to school as the children grew up. She graduated from Sam Houston State University with her Bachelor’s in Education in 1991. Being a teacher was a huge part of Mrs. Clark’s life. She taught in Fairfield I.S.D. for seven years and in Teague I.S.D. for eighteen years before retiring in 2016. Mrs. Clark enjoyed sewing, making crafts and jewelry and loved to go shopping, especially her numerous trips to Canton for First Monday with a group of friends. Gail was well known for her cooking skills and making large quantities of food whether to feed two or thirty people almost every time she cooked. Mrs. Clark was a member of Fairfield Harmony Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff Clark of Teague; one daughter, Mallorie Swinburn & husband Jerred of Dew; one son, Jacob Clark of Teague; three granddaughters, Jo Claire Swinburn, Jenna Swinburn, and Jolee Swinburn; one brother, John Nychypor & wife Nancy of Michigan; her mother-in-law, Martha Clark of The Woodlands; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends, fellow teachers, and students.
Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her parents, John & Olga Nychypor; and her father-in-law, John Clark.
