Summer may be half over, but there is still much fun to be had with Fairfield’s third installment of the popular Fuzzy Peach Festival, set for July 15th & 16th on the Freestone County courthouse square in downtown Fairfield, Texas.
This two-day event features cornhole tournament, live music by The FOG, and street dance on Friday.
Saturday includes a Little Miss Peach pageant, ice cream and cupcake eating contest, cooking contest, water slide, food trucks, games and more live music by Kate Watson and special guest, Matt Lewis.
Local shops will also host a Peach Stroll on Saturday with special peachy refreshments and sweet deals from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Here is the run down:
Friday, July 15th
Freestone County Go Texan Scholarship Committee will host a Cornhole Tournament (online sign-ups available on Scoreholio).
Registration begins at 5:00 p.m. Bags will fly at 7:00 p.m.
Street Dance and Live Music featuring The FOG (Freakin’ Old Guys) will be held from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. Come out and enjoy 50’s, 60’s and 70’s rock ballads.
Food vendors will include Pizza Rosa, Mi Mesa, and Papa Rays.
Saturday, July 16th
Fuzzy Peach Festival activities will be in full swing from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Enjoy face painting, Slip N Slide, Vendors, Shopping, Fun Games, and more!
10:00 a.m. – Little Miss Peach Pageant
10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Exotic Pets Petting Zoo
10:00 a.m. – Noon – Fairfield History Club Cooking Contest entries due.
11:00 a.m. – Peach Ice Cream Eating Contest
11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Music by Kate Watson
Kate Watson is Texas nominated “New Female Vocalist of the Year” and 2022 Future Faces Winner. She was also on the 2019 season of American Idol.
11:30 a.m. – Cupcake Eating Contest at Dessert by MommaCakes
1:30 p.m. – Winners to be Announced for Fairfield History Club Cooking Contest.
2:00 p.m. – Ice Cream Eating Contest

Entries for the 2022 Fuzzy Peach Cookery Contest must be turned in during the festival on Saturday, July 16th between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at Dessert by MommaCakes. Cost is $5 per entry.
Available categories include:
–Cake
–Pie/Cobbler
–Other Desserts
–Ice Cream
–Non-Dessert
Age divisions will be Youth (16 & under) and Adult.
Judging will be conducted by members of the Fairfield History Club, with winners announced at 1:30 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded.
For those wanting to be considered for “Best of Show,” a copy of the recipe must accompany the prepared dish, along with contestant’s name, address and telephone number.
Any type peaches may be used.
