For the last several years, Freestone Quilt Guild has supported Lisa Underhill’s The Train of Hope Elderly Ministries by making a charity quilt for raffle.
The guild provides the fabric, piecing and quilting to make the quilt and proceeds from the raffle go to support the ministry.
This year, Guild members pieced together a fun Wildflower quilt, which will be raffled off in November.
Their 2025 quilt was delivered to Lisa on Monday, February 3, 2025, prior to their monthly luncheon and meeting.

The Freestone Quilt Guild is a supportive community of quilters of skill levels who are passionate about the art of quilting, learning new techniques, teaching and encouraging others.
In addition to creating a yearly charity quilt, the Guild supports the community by awarding the Newberry-Satterwhite Memorial Scholarship to a local high school senior every other year.
The Guild also hosts outside speakers and workshops and works on a variety of different projects using quilting techniques taught by individual Guild members throughout each year.
Most members elect to arrive several hours before the monthly business meeting to sew together, enjoy fellowship, share tips and see the various beautiful quilt projects created by the members.
The Guild welcomes visitors and would love to have more new members join!
The Freestone Quilt Guild meets the first Monday of each month at 1:00 pm in the First Methodist Church Fellowship Hall at 201 North Mount St. Fairfield, Texas.
