The Fairfield Lady Eagles finished eighth in the state cross country meet in Round Rock. Morgan Coleman finished 17th for the Lady Eagles team with a 12:17 time. Madison Smith was six spots behind in 23rd only 11 seconds back. Jarahle Daniels came in 65th and Erica McQuinn came in 93rd. Michelle Castillo, Diana Castaneda and Ashley Partain competed in the event. Canyon claimed the team title in 4A Girls.

The Fairfield Lady Eagles and Mexia Lady Cats took care of first round matches in the 4A volleyball playoffs. Mexia travelled to Rusk to take on the Center Lady Roughriders and defeated them in three sets 25-18, 25-8, 25-22. Fairfield had a longer trip to Nacogdoches Central Heights with a straight set victory over Jasper 25-16, 25-17, 25-5.

These teams did not fare well in the area round. Robinson swept Mexia and Lorena and Fairfield met in Hubbard for the area round. Lorena won the match in four games 22-25, 25-12, 25-11, 25-20.

The Wortham Lady Bulldog will have their third-round game in Bremond against the Moody Ladycats. Wortham had their bi-district and area round matches in Axtell and made quick work of Chilton 25-13, 25-19, 25-13 and then swept the Lady Eagles of Valley Mills 25-19, 25-7, 25-11.

Teague ran through their district easily and lost a tough match to the fourth-place team one district over. The Rogers Lady Eagles claimed the bi-district round with a four-game win 25-15, 25-16, 23-25, 25-14.
