On 12/3/2023, around 11:30am, Dispatch reported information on a stolen vehicle out of DFW that was traveling south bound on I-45, about to be traveling through Freestone County.
Deputy Pickens responded to the interstate in attempt to locate the stolen vehicle. Lo and behold….. here it comes at about the 189 mile marker in Dew, Texas. Deputy Pickens confirmed all the information on the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The male driver was ordered to exit the vehicle and the male subject complied and Deputy Pickens, ever so nicely, secured the subject in handcuffs and placed him under arrest for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
The vehicle was found to have been stolen from the DFW Airport and the male subject involved shows a residency out of Miami, Florida.
Oh! But wait….. there seems to always be extras….. he was also wanted out of Harris County for Assault Causes Bodily Injury/Family Member.
Stolen vehicle has been returned to the owner/victim.
Good work by a good Deputy who was out doing his job.

On 12-10-23, at approximately 1:30am, FCSO Deputy Aultman responded with Fairfield PD Officer Beaver to I-45 south bound in reference to a stolen semi truck, stolen out of Red Oak, Texas, that was reported to be traveling through the Fairfield area. The stolen truck was being tracked by the owner with a GPS tracker.
FPD Ofc. Beaver checked out on traffic with a semi truck matching the description of the stolen vehicle and Deputy Aultman tracked down another white Freightliner truck matching the description, close to the 186 mile marker.
B-I-N-G-O!!! Deputy Aultman is the winner!!
Deputy Aultman conducted a traffic stop and met with the male driver. Male suspect basically told a story of how this unknown man, out of the kindness of his heart, just handed him the keys and told him to take it for a spin to Houston.
In turn, Deputy Aultman basically stated (Enter Sarcastic Comedic Remark), liar liar pants on fire, wear these handcuffs, you’re going to jail.
Male suspect was arrested for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
FPD Ofc. Beaver assisted by completing inventory of the truck, and she remained on scene with DPS Trooper Gray to stay with the stolen truck until the owner arrived to take possession.
Good work by the good guys.

On 12/7/2023, Deputies were dispatched to a residence west of Fairfield in regard to subjects shooting a couple different firearms in the direction of multiple houses and FM 27. Looky here folks….. you are responsible for that projectile from the time it leaves your firearm until its final resting place. You should ALWAYS insure that the direction you are shooting in or towards IS NOT jeopardizing people, buildings, vehicles, or animals.
Word of advice, be a responsible firearms owner, or save yourself or someone else from being injured or killed by not being one at all.
Also, another word of advice, don’t be a felon illegally in possession of a firearm or have illegal narcotics on you when committing said deadly conduct.
The following 3 subjects were arrested and charged :
* 1 female – Unlawful Carrying of a weapon w/ Felony conviction and Deadly Conduct
* 1 male – Unlawful Carrying of a weapon w/ Felony conviction and Deadly Conduct
* 1 male – Deadly Conduct and Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1/1B less than a gram
We hope multiple lessons were learned here and the FCSO is thankful that no one was hurt or worse.

Back in late October the FCSO received a report of a stolen truck from the local U-Haul rental location in Fairfield.
A female subject had legally rented the U-Haul truck back in September, but had illegally not brought the truck back, even upon request, nor paid for the rental in any amount. In the state of Texas, that constitutes the charge of Theft.
Different locations were checked by FCSO Deputies in attempt to locate the female suspect and/or the stolen U-Haul truck to no avail.
To make matters worse for this female suspect with the stolen U-Haul, about 3 weeks later, in early November, the same female took multiple items from a building by the use of forced entry. In the state of Texas, that constitutes the charge of Burglary of a Building.
So, now we have a female subject who has a stolen truck and who has burglarized a building, obviously hiding out and hiding the truck in unknown locations because she knows the eyes of the law are looking.
Three more weeks later, enter the bright light of this gloomy saga. On 12/6/2023, Oakwood PD Chief Bishop located the female suspect in his city along with the stolen U-Haul truck.
Chief Bishop placed the female suspect under arrest and recovered the stolen vehicle.
Once the female suspect was in the custody of the FCSO, she advised that it was just all a big misunderstanding and didn’t care to speak on it any further. WOW!! That is one ginormous 2 month long misunderstanding.
She’s now resting easy in the confines of the Freestone County Jail, where hopefully there’s a better understanding between herself and what she’s doing.
