At approximately 2:40 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021, Fairfield PD reported that a vehicle had been stolen from a local business and requested assistance in locating that vehicle. FPD advised the suspect’s identity was known, as he dropped identifying information at the scene during the commission of the theft. The company’s security contacted the Sheriff’s Office and began relaying the vehicle’s location as they were tracking it via GPS. FCSO Deputy Weinmann and Wortham PD Sgt. Craig followed the tracking information as the vehicle drove down various county roads. As Deputy Weinmann & Sgt Craig converged on the vehicle they were advised that the vehicle had crashed on SE CR 2320, just inside Navarro County. Deputy Weinmann & Sgt Craig located the vehicle, but it was unoccupied. A search of immediate area was conducted and the suspect was located approximately 1/4 mile further down the road. The suspect was detained and later provided a voluntary statement, confessing to stealing the vehicle from the business.
The suspect was placed under arrest and was transported to the FCSO Jail, where he was released to FPD for book-in on the charge of Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle.
Great combined effort by 3 law enforcement agencies today; Fairfield PD, Wortham PD, and the FCSO. Stolen truck recovered and suspect jailed. Sounds like a win again for the good guys.

Not sure where he was in such a hurry to be going that he was pulling guns out to get there, but we know where his journey ended and he’s going to have a little time to think about his actions.
