On 3/25/23, FCSO Deputy Hill made an arrest on an individual impersonating a public servant – Claiming to be an FBI Agent from New Orleans – and found the subject to be in possession of several identifying forms of information belonging to other people. The male subject was also found to be driving a vehicle for which the vehicle information was not matching the VIN number for which the subject was driving.
The information obtained at the time of arrest was followed up on with Limestone County and they are furthering their investigation into possible criminal charges within their county.
The male subject was arrested, transported, and booked into the FCSO Jail Facility without incident.
I wish the story stopped there on this one, but, like so many others, it doesn’t.
Two days later, on the 27th, the subject was brought out to the visitation room for a visit. During this time, the subject attempted an escape from the facility, but failed in his process of doing so. We will not discuss the manner by which this attempt was made due to maintaining the safety and security of our facility the best we can.
The subject has now been charged with his attempted escape while arrested or confined, which is an added felony to go along with the 2 other felonies he already had.
We are very glad this was a failed attempt and no one was hurt because of it. Good job by our control room jailer doing their job and paying attention.
