Cooler weather signals the beginning of Fall for our corner of the world. It is an excellent time for pumpkin carving, costume parties and family fun.
Here are some not-to-miss events taking place in Freestone County the last few weeks in October:
–TSAC Fall Arts Walk
The Trinity Star Arts Council is hosting their “Fall Art Walk on the Square” October 26th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in downtown Fairfield, Texas.
There will be art on display (including student-created Picasso pumpkins), art activities, live music, refreshments and late night shopping.
Also during the evening, winners of the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce Scarecrow Decorating contest will be announced.

–Teague Parkfest
Teague’s annual Parkfest will be held Saturday, October 28th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Teague City Park. The event will include a BBQ Cook-Off, live performances, bounce house, kid games, costume contest and arts & crafts vendors.
Come early to join the TISD Student Council Color Run at 9:00 a.m. ($25 to register). Trunk-or-Treat will be held from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
–Fairfield Market Days
Shoppers are encouraged to bring the whole family to Fairfield Market Days on Saturday, October 28th. There will be pumpkins to decorate and treats.

Fairfield
Boo! On the Square will be held on Halloween night this year.
Join the City of Fairfield for their annual night of candy and family fun on the Courthouse Square on Tuesday, October 31st from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Also that night, Fairfield Harmony Presbyterian Church will host a Fall Festival from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and the First United Methodist Church will have their annual Truck-or-Treat from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Teague
Trick-or-Treating will be observed in the City of Teague from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31st.
The City of Teague employees will host a Fall Festival in their parking lot on October 31st from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.
In addition, a Trunk-or-Treat will be held on the 300 block of Elm and 4th Street in front of City Hall. Event is sponsored by local businesses and Teague EDC.
Wortham
The Brick Street Fall Festival will be held on from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on October 31st in downtown Wortham. Games and candy are on tap, and the event is safe for kids of all ages.
The Fall Festival is sponsored by Wortham area churches and businesses.
