Freestone County 4-H accomplished quite a lot, in 2017.
Rhaina Emmons won Grand Champion Beefmaster Heifer at San Antonio Stock Show and a $10,000 Scholarship.
Senior Beef Quiz Bowl Team (Preston Simpson, Conner Jackson, Laney McAdams, Riley Simpson) placed 4th at Houston Stock Show and Qualified for State Texas 4-H Roundup.
Riley Simpson received $6,500 scholarship from Texas 4-H Foundation, and was Awarded Ag Student of the Month by Texas Farm Credit.
Peyton Daniel was re-elected as a District Council Vice Chairman for the 2017-2018 4-H Year.
Laney McAdams received $6,000 in scholarships for her participation in 4-H Shotgun.
Members of 4-H had over 210 entries in the Freestone County Fair with many Champions & Reserves.
Over 70,000 hours of community service, leadership and project work was completed by 4-H members and Adult Volunteers.
