“The Freestone County Sheriff’s Office has been very diligent in honoring our oath to protect and serve the citizens of Freestone County,” says Sheriff Jeremy Shipley. “And we want to say Thank You for the overwhelming support from our citizens and commissioners that we have received during this time.”
The following is a brief summary of statistics from the months of January through June 2017, the first six months of his time in office.
–Dispatchers handled 6,147 total calls involving Freestone County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO), Fairfield PD, Teague PD, Wortham PD, Fire Departments, and EMS
–Deputies completed 252 written reports, 84 of which are considered major crimes by the stat that consist of homicide, rape, assault, burglary, theft, and vehicle theft
–Of the 84 major crimes reported, 39 have been closed (46%)
–Deputies made 234 arrests, 47 of which were drug related
–Deputies initiated 281 traffic stops
–FCSO received 294 civic papers and successfully served 255 of them
–Jailers booked-in a total of 506 subjects and booked-out 497 subjects
–Jail population averaged 35 inmates per day, while the average of those housed out of county was 30 per day
