Plans are underway for the Third Annual BBQ Cook-Off, hosted by Freestone County Area Go Texan Committee. This year’s event includes $5,000 add-on prize money, donated by the City of Fairfield.
Mark your calendars for April 26th and 27th at the W.L. Moody Fairgrounds in Fairfield, Texas.
There will be Horseshoes & Cornhole Tournaments, and Vendors.
Kids Activities include Face Painting, Bounce Houses, Snow Cones, Raffles, Crafts and more.
Live music will be performed:
–Friday from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m.

–Saturday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.

–from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

–from 9:00 p.m. to midnight
Texas Unlimited Band
Proceeds from the event go toward local scholarships.
T-shirts are available, both adults and a kid’s design.

The BBQ Cook-Off is a IBCA Sanctioned Event.
Entry Fee is $200 a Team, and $50 for each Jackpot entry.
Jackpots include Cook’s Choice, Desserts, Breakfast Dish and Salsa.
Team meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, with Cook’s Choice event at 8:00 p.m.
Saturday’s schedule includes Chicken at 12:00 p.m., Pork Spareribs at 1:30 p.m., and Brisket at 3:00 p.m.
RV spots are limited, so get your spot reserved. $50.00 a night.
The organization is also seeking vendors for the event. Cost for a booth is $50 or a greater door prize item.
