The Jonathan Hardin Chapter (JHC) NSDAR values the sacrifices made by our patriots of today and of the past. Our freedoms exist because of the men and women who have served our country.
The DAR has partnered with Wreaths Across America, and these organizations share similar missions: 1) Remember the fallen veterans; 2) honor our military who serve today; and 3) educate our youth about the value of freedom and the sacrifices that have been made by Patriots to preserve those freedoms.
The National Wreaths Across America Day is December 16, 2023. Ceremonies will be held and wreaths will be laid in nearby cemeteries to honor our local heroes. On this special day, fallen veterans across the country and internationally will be honored with wreaths reverently placed at their gravesites.
The four locations are Driver and Salem Cemetries in Freestone County; and LaSalle and New Hope (Jewett) in Limestone County. We welcome volunteers, and you can help honor your family Patriot, or assist in remembering and honoring other fallen Veterans.
Ceremonies will begin at 9:00 a.m. at LaSalle Cemetery in Groesbeck, at 10:30 a.m. at New Hope Cemetery in Jewett, at 1:00 p.m. at Salem Cemetery in Teague, and at 2:30 p.m. at Driver Cemetery in Teague.
