Books have been flying off the shelf at Freestone County Historical Museum.

Written by former County Sheriff, the late J.R. “Sonny” Sessions, Jr., the book “Freestone Past and Present” is available for $75 and includes a free “Freestone Friends Pioneer Sponsorship.”

The sponsorship is good through December of 2019 and allows for free visitation to the museum complex for a whole year, as well as a free newsletter subscription.

The 456-page hardbound volume contains a wealth of historical knowledge that Sheriff Sessions shared in his weekly newspaper column.

Proceeds will benefit the 1881 Freestone County Jail restoration project.

The book may be purchased at the Museum, located at 302 E. Main Street in Fairfield.  They are open Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; closed on December 26th for the holidays.
