To Our Great Community in Freestone County from River of Life Church. We just want to thank you for helping us have a tremendous year. We have seen a circulation in our food pantry like never before in 2016. We went from feeding a 1,000 per a month which has been great to anywhere from 5,000 to 6,000 a month every month. We were blessed to circulate 88,000 lbs. of food in 2015 to a amazing million pounds this year! The majority of that was fresh produce and fruit. We were also blessed that we have now begun building a new food pantry 7500 feet with side walls going 15 feet in the air which will allow us to supply more products to our community and all throughout Central Texas. We have been faithful to make sure we are taking care of our region first and we have been blessed to send supplies outside of our region even to Baton Rouge in their state of emergency. We have had challenges throughout the year with the hot summer trying to keep the food fresh but God had allowed us to purchase a semi-truck along with a 48-foot cooler trailer to help keep our food fresh. But God has proven that there is no limits to what He can do and He has certainly proved that to us in 2016.
As we are preparing for 2017 we believe God has put us into a place to be available to be just one call away to meet any need for God has provided the seed to meet the need. We believe what has happened in the last twelve months is bigger than us but certainly not bigger than God. Always in the Bible when God would give a proclamation He would bring in the people that could help bring that proclamation to past. So, we are wanting to give you an opportunity to be part of something that is moving with the favor of God at River of Life. We proclaim if you give it out God will give it in.
We just do not see this as a River of Life Ministry for we have several churches in our community that have contributed to our success this year. We see this as an opportunity for everyone to be involved from the great volunteers that we couldn’t do this without them, those who have planted seeds of finances to help see this come to past, those who pray and keep the pantry in their prayers to those who inform us of where the needs are throughout the region. From the truck drivers to the many volunteers, the partners, to the prayer warriors there is a great circulation taking place that we are grateful in getting this experience. This is not a government or state funded ministry which allows us to have the freedom to pray for every individual and to help anybody where it is needed. However, all the expenses come out of our general fund to circulate this food it costs us several 1,000’s every month and we could use any contribution especially in such a time as this. We do have accountability through Central Texas Food Bank (which is where we are receiving the food from). We receive inspections and report to them on a monthly basis accounting for all the food and families that we service. This is a nonprofit organization and any help will be well received. We have to come up with every penny to run the Food Pantry. River of Life Community Food Pantry is a nonprofit organization designated as a tax exempt under Section 501 (3 ) by the Internal Revenue Service. Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. All checks can be made out to River of Life Food Pantry and send to PO Box 1438, Fairfield, TX 75840.
