Weather permitting, beginning Monday, January 6, 2025, FM 80 will be closed at Sanders Creek and South Fork Sanders Creek to allow for the removal of existing bridges and the construction of new bridges at each location. This closure is anticipated to last through December 2025.
Through traffic will not be allowed during this time. To alert drivers, portable changeable message signs will be placed in advance of the closure along with a signed detour directing drivers on how to drive around the closure. The signed detour will consist of SH 164 and FM 489 west of Donie. Drivers should exercise caution and be prepared for delays during this construction.
This project is contracted to PMCO Construction, LLC for $2.767 million dollars and is anticipated to be completed by January 2026.
