Earlier this month, Fairfield ISD trustees passed an amendment allowing school staff to be armed if authorized by the board.
“At this time, only the policy has been amended,” stated Superintendent Dr. Jason Adams. “We will begin discussions about how to, and when to proceed with this process and procedures.”
Other action during the September 9, 2019 school board meeting: 
–Presentation by Mrs. Gibson and the HS campus – Audio/Visual Class, and recognizing the FHS student council and staff.
–Arland Thill presented information on technology upgrades and implementation. “We’re thankful for the tech department and their hard work across the District,” said Dr. Adams.
–Mrs. Santa Cruz provided a presentation on the student trip to Canada this past summer
–The board approved Walsh/Gallegos as the District’s legal representative for 19-20
–The board did not nominate individuals to serve on the Freestone CAD
–The District’s enrollment is at 1805 (historically, we’re around 1800).
–No action was taken after executive session
