First Day Hike at Fairfield Lake State Park

Those joining Fairfield Lake State Park staff for the First Day Hike enjoyed a beautiful day and some great views on Sunday morning, January 1, 2023.

Perfect for camping, hiking trails, swimming, boating and fishing, our local state park is situated on a 2,400-acre lake in the northeast portion of Freestone County.

Texas State Parks are celebrating 100 years beginning this month, as the State Parks Board was established in 1923. The Centennial Celebration is being hosted in partnership with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation.
