The Parable of the Lost Sheep are inside the Gospel’s Mathew and Luke, and tells how God loves each and everyone, no matter what.
Ricky Missildine strongly believes in the words of that parable, so much so he named his ministry the Lost Sheep Ministry.
In fact, he does Sunday service at Rockin’ Kountry Clubhouse, a bar. Not where most expect to find a church service.
“God makes us the way we are for his purpose, “says Missildine while talking about why he works out of a bar,”I grew up in a beer joint. He prepared me all my life,”
He wants to change the way the church looks at people.
In his mind, “It’s about that one sheep up here in the beer joint, and if he dies without somebody coming out and telling him, he’s going to hell.”
Missildine knows his past is not what people have come to expect from a Pastor. Instead of hiding his old ways of drinking and doing drugs, he lets them be known.
The past makes Missildine able to understand people who are struggling with those issues, and to reach out to show them the road to God.
Plus, the way this man can sing seems to be a gift from God, helping him reach out to even more people using nothing more than his voice.
A voice that Missildine has used to bring people to worship with him.
He shows up for karaoke, and leaves with the knowledge of who needs his help.
Missildine perfectly explains his ministry when he says, “We’re not trying to reach church people. We’re trying to reach the lost.”
Services are held out at Rockin’ Kountry Clubhouse on County Road 506 right off of Post Oak Road in Fairfield.
He also has a radio slot on KNES on Sundays, and sings at other churches.
