Gospel singer Robin Gibson from Ennis, Texas, will be performing a concert of contemporary, traditional and country gospel songs, Sunday, April 29, as part of Lakeside United Methodist’s “Fifth Sunday Sing” series.  The concert begins at 6:15 pm and will last about an hour.

“Everyone is invited to attend this intimate concert that includes beautiful renditions of familiar songs and a few new favorites as performed by Ms. Gibson,” said Mary Schutz, coordinator for this concert. “Instead of an admission fee for this professional event, guests are asked to bring a few items of food for our Food Bank ministry.”

Robin Linell Gibson was born and raised in the small Western Kansas town of Elkhart, where she attended Bible Baptist Church and went to school at Yarbrough High School in Yarbrough, Oklahoma. Robin sang in the church choir and at High School events and musicals. Friends University, Wichita, Kansas is where she received her formal music education with a major in Music Education and a minor in performance, and was a member of the “Singing Quakers.”

In June of 1999, Robin married Travis  Gibson of Tyrone, Oklahoma and in 2002 the family answered the Lord’s call to ministry and moved to Fort Worth, Texas to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

While at Southwestern, Robin performed at various seminary chapel services and served as Music Minister at North Cleburne Baptist Church in Cleburne, Texas. In 2007, Robin and her family moved to Warden, Washington, where Robin served as Music Minster at First Baptist Church.

In 2014, the family moved back to Ennis, Texas where they reside today.

Robin sings at small and large churches, various convention events, PRCA Rodeos, university sporting events, state fairs and evangelical outreach events.

“My love for the Lord and music has always culminated in an opportunity to edify the church and reach people in the name of Jesus,” said Gibson. “I’m just embarking on this new aspect of my music career—performing for churches in the Ennis/Corsicana area—and I’m looking forward to meeting all the folks who live in the southside Richland Chambers Lake area!”
