FHS Drama club will present “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” based on the story by Washington Irving, on Nov. 10 at 7:00 p.m. and Nov. 11 at 2:00 p.m. at the FHS auditorium. Twenty students were selected after auditions on September 6.
“The tryout experience was fun,” junior Margie Savage said. “As a new student I felt very welcomed into the theater family already, and it made me feel very comfortable with tryouts.”
Many of the cast members have acted together in previous productions and have formed a special bond with each other. There are only seventeen rehearsals before the fall production.
“I feel great about my role,” senior Preston Long said. “Brom is more of the comedy relief role in the play and I think I fit perfectly with that!”
The play, selected by teacher Jeff Wright, will be directed by Wright and teacher Susan Walsh.
It’s always been a favorite story of mine,” Wright said. “I thought it would be fun to produce and be able to use a little creativity in how we performed it.”
The fall production is open to the community, and tickets are sold at the door. All money goes to the drama clubs scholarships and funding.
“Considering the humor in this play combined with a very positive cast with a great sense of humor,” senior Jack Ezell said, “I think this play will be fantastic, and one we’ll remember.”
