Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Limestone, Falls, McLennan, Robertson, Leon, Hill and Freestone Counties are sponsoring a “FALL Beef Cattle Management” program at the Groesbeck Convention Center in Groesbeck, Texas, on Tuesday, October 22, 2019. The Convention Center is located at 106 E. Navasota St. in downtown Groesbeck and just a few blocks behind the County Courthouse. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. and will conclude after a catered lunch. There will be a sponsored breakfast and soft drinks courtesy of Capital Farm Credit.
There is a $10.00 fee for the program, payable at the door. We will be offering one (1) CEU’s (1 General credit) toward recertification of private, non-commercial and commercial applicator licenses for attending the program.
Speakers for the program include: Dr. Jason Banta – Extension Beef Cattle Specialist; Mrs. Lisa Everman – Limestone/Freestone Farm Service Agency, Ty Heath – NRCS Groesbeck; Dr. Jason Johnson – Extension Economist; Dr. Barron Rector – Associate Professor and Extension Range Specialist Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and we will have an update from all of our sponsors.
Topics for the Beef Cattle program include: Preparing for Winter Feeding – Winter Supplementation Strategies and Managing Costs; Weed and Brush Identification Training and proper methods to control these; Current Cattle Market Driving Factors and outlook into the near future;Farm Service Agency and Natural Resource Conservation Program opportunities.
