Since January 26th of this year, a group of area Christians have been meeting at The Event Center in Fairfield holding two worship services each week. Their first meeting brought 34 worshippers together and the newly formed church has seen more than 100 in attendance several times since that first meeting. Limited space for Sunday School and worship services required the group to seek a larger facility and their prayers were answered.
This Sunday, June 11th, FFBC will hold their first service at the former Marathon Oil Company building at 801 I-45 South Service Road in Fairfield. Members of the local congregation and others have been remodeling a large portion of the facility for several months and will be finishing their efforts this week.
Three adult Sunday school classes and four children’s classes will be available. Children classes will be nursery: up to 3 years old; 3-5 years old; 1st -3rd grade; and 4th-6th grade. A youth class will be for 7th through 12th grade students. There is room for additional classes as attendance grows and needs are identified.
Sunday mornings at Faith Fellowship Baptist Church begin at 9 am with a lite breakfast which is provided by different families each week. Sunday school begins at 9:45 am with the worship service beginning at 10:45 am. Wednesday night services also begin with a lite meal at 6 pm with the weekly Bible study class beginning at 6:30 pm.
“We have been blessed from the very beginning of this journey when a few of us visited about finding a place to worship together,” FFBC leadership team president Bud Black stated. “We as a church family were committed from early on to just stay out of the way and let God lead us where He wanted us to go. We continue to see and experience blessings and prayers answered daily. We have an exceptionally strong family of prayer warriors and the results of that tremendous group have changed many lives. Come join us as we continue to share a sweet spirit environment at Faith Fellowship.”
Brother Matthew Prather of Midlothian is the interim pastor and leads the Sunday morning worship service. Wednesday night Bible study is led by Brother Eddie Acord of Fairfield.
