Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 10, 2018! The Fairfield Young Farmers will be hosting their 2nd Annual Dinner & Raffle/Auction at the Twisted Vine Events Center in Fairfield at 7pm. Tickets for the dinner/event are $20 each. Students who are 10 years of age and younger will get in for free.
A dinner consisting of fajitas and all the trimmings will be served. The night will also include numerous raffle items and a live auction. Raffle tickets will be sold on-site.
Some of the live auction items include hunts, thermal vision hog hunts, and guns.
Sponsorships are $200 and include 4 tickets and meals. More auction and raffle items are needed as well. The Fairfield Young Farmers Chapter was established in 1977 with the help of former Fairfield High School Ag Teacher Don Beene. The purpose of the State Association of Young Farmers of Texas is to provide educational programs designed to meet the needs of men and women with a vested interest in agriculture.
These interests include, but are not limited to: leadership training and experience for leaders and good citizens; participation of families in civic and community service work designed to improve the way of life in their community, state, and nation; cooperation with FFA chapters and their activities; cooperation with other organizations and agricultural agencies in programs benefiting agriculture; recreation for families.
Each year the Fairfield Young Farmers have three main fundraisers. They include selling burgers at home Friday night football games, the dinner/benefit, and selling fully-cooked briskets in April.
Fairfield Young Farmers is a non-profit group whose sole mission is to support the youth involved in agriculture here in Freestone County. Last year, they were able to spend just over $16,000 at the Freestone County Fair through animal purchases or add-ons. They also gave out three $1,000 scholarships.
Get your tickets today and come out and support the Fairfield Young Farmers. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Fairfield FFA and Fairfield Jr. FFA.
