On Tuesday, December 4th, the Fairfield Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) will meet at 6:30 PM at Sam’s Restaurant in Fairfield. This veterans’ organization convenes on the first Tuesday of every month to carry out its program of support to the local veteran population, support to the active military, and support to other civic groups of Freestone County.

The December meeting will highlight “Women In Military Service” which was observed by all VFW Posts in October of this year. As part of our Post’s ongoing membership drive, the Post Commander, Roger Brooke, issued a special call to the female members of our Post to bring with them to our meetings, other veterans who are eligible to join VFW. Any US military veteran, male or female, who served in a war zone, is eligible for membership. He or she should simply attend the meeting and bring a copy of his/her DD214 military separation document to submit an application.

Our Post carries out many programs to help local veterans, to support the active military services, and to support civic groups in Fairfield and throughout the County. We invite other eligible veterans to join us on 4 December 2018 at 18:30 hrs. to help in the completion of our mission.
