When the members of the Fairfield Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars met at Sam’s Restaurant on October 5, 2021, they were delighted to receive All-State Honors for the year July 2020 to June 2021. Chris Davis, the District Commander of VFW District 29, commended the entire Fairfield Post for outstanding performance during the recently completed year. He then presented two special overseas caps to the Post Commander, Roger Brooke and the Post Quartermaster, Arne Henderson as holders of their positions during the year for which this distinguished onor was given.

Commander Brooke accepted the All-State commendation on behalf of the Fairfield Post and pointed out that qualifying for this award required competitors to meet more than 20 mandatory requirements during the year. He praised the Fairfield Post members for their extraordinary effort in meeting these prerequisites. In a District consisting of 8 Posts, Fairfield was one of 4 Posts to earn All-State honors. Fairfield also did exceptionally well in meeting membership goals and in completing veteran projects and community service projects in Freestone county. In the membership category, Fairfield attained 106% of their assigned goal, a mark which was second best in the District. The Fairfield Team exceeded the 20 community service projects required and completed three times the required veterans projects.
