COMPETING AT THE STATE Track Meet in Brownsville, Texas on July 25-28, 2024, as a member of Prime Elite Speed Development, was Fairfield athlete Imani Brackens.
More than 8,000 athletes from around the state competed at this event.
Imani earned Fourth Place (of 27) in the 400-Meter Dash, Sixth Place (of 27) in Triple Jump, and Tenth Place (of 27 teams) with her team in the 4×100 Relay.
“It was a great first experience,” explains Imani. “Actually, one of my best experiences. I feel like I did great, going against some of the best of the best.
“It definitely wasn’t easy,” she continued, “ but with practice and dedication, I will be back next year, and many more to come.
“Thank you to everyone for cheering and supporting me.”
