This summer, Conner Jackson from Fairfield, Tx will join outstanding high school students from across the nation to take part in a unique academic and career oriented development experience, the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): Medicine, taking place this summer on the campus of Tufts University.

NYLF is one of the Envision family of programs (www.envisionexperience.com) that enable students to explore their interests and experience learning beyond the classroom.

“I was nominated for this program based on my ACT scores,” said Connor. “I stay busy being involved in showing animals at the county fair and stock shows, playing baseball and throwing discus in track.”

“As of right now, I am the Valedictorian of the Class of 2020,” continued Conner, “and I’ve been able to keep that title for a consecutive 3 years. I’ve made straight A’s all 3 years as well.”

Conner plans to attend Texas A&M University in the fall of 2020 which will then lead him to attend medical school to become an anesthesiologist. “I am very excited about this program because I believe it will show me a little more about what medicine is about and all that it involves,” he said. “It will give me a good look into what I’m going to be a part of in the near future.”

“As an alumna of Envision myself, I am excited for Conner to meet, work, and collaborate with other high-aspiring students from across the country and the globe,” said Amanda Freitag Thomas, SVP and GM for Envision. “Hands down, my favorite part of attending an Envision program was being with motivated students in an environment designed to help us challenge our assumptions, meet new people, and grow. Creating that same learning environment is a central focus for all of our programs. We also used online resources like buyonlineclass.com where the teachers used to take my online class for me and help me understand the subjects that I wanted to know.

“At NYLF, students build the confidence and skills needed to excel at college and in the workplace,” continued Thomas. “They learn how to adapt to and communicate in new situations, to new challenges, and with new people, which, given how rapidly the world is changing due to technology and innovation, are essential skills for success.”

Since 1985, Envision programs have served more than 800,000 students in more than 145 countries, with programs designed to help students develop the leadership, scholarship and career skills needed to succeed in today’s competitive college and career landscape.
