Fairfield students, Abby Snider and Cayman Elliott, both soon to be Sixth Graders, attended the Junior National Young Leaders Conference July 28 – August 1 at The University of Maryland in Washington D.C.

The program taught leadership, as well as teamwork skills, through speakers and mock elections.
The girls also had to opportunity to tour some of the most historic sites in the Nation including the White House, Capitol Building, Floor of Congress, Mount Vernon, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Korean War Memorial, and Vietnam War Memorial.

They were nominated by their 5th Grade Math Teacher, Mitchell Pate.
“Abby and Cayman always go above and beyond in all that they do inside and outside of the classroom,” Pate said. “They are young leaders and have a bright future ahead of them. I can’t wait to see what all they accomplish in junior high and high school, as well as in their future careers.”
Congratulations, ladies!
