The Fairfield Library Association is saddened by the recent loss of Board President, Lyle Red, who passed away on February 3, 2018.

In addition to being a lifelong outstanding citizen of Fairfield, having filled many positions in the community, Lyle began serving as the Board President in April of 2015, previously serving as Vice President from 2008, and was elected to be a member of the Board in 2002.

During his tenure as President the recent major renovation project was proposed, approved and implemented.  He will be greatly missed by all of us at the Fairfield Library, aka Mary Moody Northen Library.

The Board will conduct its annual public meeting next week on Monday, March 5th at 5:45 p.m. following the regularly scheduled monthly board meeting which will begin at 5:00.

Everyone is invited to join us as we celebrate the successes from 2017.  We will reelect/elect three board members whose terms have expired.

In addition we will also be voting to accept the addition to the Board of Mr. Sid Ivy of Fairfield to fill the Board vacancy left by Mr. Red.

The Library had its first Family Game Night on Friday, February 23.  Numerous games were available for family members for game night.  The Library is planning this as a quarterly event.

A large sized checkers board was added next to the chess table for families to enjoy during the event, and will remain in place for library patrons to enjoy during regular library hours.

The Library continues to have weekly Story Time events on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m.  There are many things going on at the Library on various dates and times.

Be sure to watch the event calendar on the library website www.FairfieldTxLibrary.org and on the Library’s Facebook page @FairfieldTxLibrary.
