Fairfield Lake State Park reopened for Day Use Only in April, and have met their capacity almost every day since.
Park Superintendent Daniel Stauffer stated that the reopening was expectedly fluid and that for the most people have followed the required restrictions.
Facemasks are required for anyone entering the park with groups limited to the size of five, with immediate family members allowed to be in larger groups.
Guest must remember their social distancing as well, with the swim beach and picnic area being currently off limits.
Use of the South boat ramp and the fishing pier, but camping does not have a set day for reopening as of yet.
A pass must be obtained online to have access into the park, including Texas State Park Pass holders.
Visit texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com to pre-purchase a day entry pass, peoples usernames on the site will be the email the individual provided when purchasing a pass.
“We have undergone a great deal of operational changes over the past month,” explains Stauffer, “I would be willing to bet the changes will continue going forward.”
