The Fairfield Lady Eagles put aside any distress from winning the district title by scoring early and opening the game up for a lopsided finish. Fairfield has one game left in Madisonville on Tuesday.
Fairfield dominated all phases of the game and led by 20 at the end of the first period and went on to win 81-29 before a good crowd at the Johnson Activity Center at Fairfield.
The Lady Eagles controlled the offensive glass with Breyunna Dowell taking a miss and laying it in with a foul. Kayelee Adams, Jarahle Daniels and Emori Davis hit from long distance to build a big lead in the quarter. Oasis Keener and Yasmine Green scored to put six on the board, but the Lady Eagles held a 26-6 lead at the end of one.
Fairfield went into a bit of a slump, missing the first eight from the field. Jada Clark and Daniels broke away for three easy scores Daniels scored ten in the late moments of the first half. Gibson scored the only field goal for the ladycats to go along with a pair of free throws. They would be outscored 22-4 in the period and Fairfield had a commanding 48-10 lead at the half.
The post players took over the beginning of the second half. Dowell scored twice and Braden Bossier scored twice in the first four minutes. Adams returned for a pair of three pointers and the Lady Eagles added nine points to the halftime lead.
Adams scored a game high25 points on the night and Dowell added 11.
