School attendance has steadily improved the last three weeks at Fairfield ISD, according to reports given during the Tuesday, September 14, 2021 Board of Trustees meeting.
At the end of August, 11.31% of Fairfield students were marked absent, due to COVID-19. The following week, absences were down to 8.57%, and down again to 6.11% the week of September 13th.
District enrollment is currently at 1,694 students for all campuses.
COVID positive cases in the district (staff & students) were as follows:
–Week of August 30th – 33
–Week of September 7th – 14
–Week of September 13th – 8
The Fairfield School Board voted to amend the district resolution to provide ten (10) total COVID leave days.
The school district is currently COVID testing staff by appointment. They hoped to start testing “symptom free” students beginning this Monday, September 20th.
If students are sent home with COVID symptoms, they are required to stay home for ten days.
However, if they become symptom free and want to return to school before their ten days are up, the school district can test them for an early return.
Testing will only be given to students with parental consent.
