The FCCLA will be leading a coat and blanket drive on October 15th-31st.  Drop offs will be made at the Fairfield High School lobby. All coats and blankets can be any size, color, new, or used.
“This will be a great way to help those that can’t afford to keep warm during the winter,” FCCLA reporter Mayra Soto said. “We need to start learning how to give to those in need.”
This year, the FCCLA club plans to collect 500 items compared to last year’s 350 items collected.
“Last year we reached our goal so we plan to increase it this year.” cosponsor Laura Craddick said. “We are not off to a good start this year and want to do all we can to reach our goal.”
Any coats and blankets will be accepted as long as they are gently used, clean, and in good condition.
“We encourage our community to be a part of this amazing program, and even ask students to donate and possibly get extra credit for some of their classes,” FCCLA member Karisty Hopper said. “Anything you bring will be greatly appreciated and used for a good purpose.”
All items collected will be donated to the same program as last year, and will be distributed to homeless shelters across North Texas.
“This is the second year for our community to help this program,” Laura Craddick said. “Our goal is to collect 4000 items, and to help have an impact on those who desperately need it.”
